Companies are testing program that would be able to banish the sharing of accounts. TECH IA
The practice of splitting the password for streaming services, such as Netflix, HBO Go and Amazon Prime, between friends and family is quite common. Keeping an eye on this, Synamedia, a digital security company, has developed a system that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to identify whether the same password is used by different users. The technology is already being tested by several companies and should start operating soon.
As the ‘ Uol ‘ explains, the Credentials Sharing Insight program is able to track and analyze whether different people are logged in with the same user and on different devices. For example: A person who is in São Paulo and a relative of her who lives in Rio usually access the same account from different devices. They would be appointed as suspects by the system, which would issue an alert to the company.
According to publication, sharing of access between friends or family is the least of the problems. For these cases, the streaming service could simply send an alert or offer a “family subscription”. The great advantage of Synamedia’s program is, in fact, identifying cases of fraud, in which passwords are sold unduly on a large scale.
