President Jair Bolsonaro defended today (12) that criminal actions occurring in Ceará are considered terrorism. The manifestation of the president in favor of PLS 272/2016 was made through his personal Twitter account at 7am this Saturday (12), commenting on the situation in Ceará.
“To the criminal does not matter the party of this or that Governor. Today he acts in Ceará, tomorrow in São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul or Goiás. Your actions, like burning, exploding,… Public or private goods, should be typified as terrorism, “said the president.
Bolsonaro also called it “commendable” and defended the bill, authored by Senator Lasier Martins (PSD-RS), which hardens Law No. 13,260 that typifies the concept of terrorism and regulates the action of the Public power combat. According to the project, in the commission of Constitution, Justice and Citizenship (CCJ) of the Senate, it is classified as terrorism “ignite, deprecate, loot, destroy or explode means of transport or any public or private good, with the aim of Forcing public authority to act, refrain from practicing or tolerating it, or even intimidating certain people, groups of people or the general population. ”
PLS 272/2016 also criminalizes “interfere, sabotage or damage computer systems or databases, with political or ideological motivation, in order to disorient, untangle, hinder or prevent its operation.”
Last October, the federal government instituted an intelligence task force to confront organized crime in Brazil. The group, under the coordination of the Office of Institutional Security of the Presidency (GSI), has the function of “analyzing and sharing data and producing intelligence reports with a view to subsidize the elaboration of public policies and government action in Dealing with criminal organizations that affront the Brazilian state and its institutions. ”

The military police of Ceará recorded at dawn today two new criminal attacks against an energy transmission tower and a vehicle dealership. The state entered this Saturday on the 11th day followed by attacks attributed to criminal factions.
According to the PM, a transmission tower had the base exploded in the city of Maracanaú, Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza, and fell. Due to the attack, residents reported a power outage in the nearby regions. In the capital of Ceará, around 5 a.m., an explosion struck the yard of a concessionaire and damaged vehicles that were exposed for sale. According to the Ceará Department of Security, 319 people have been arrested so far. All of them are in flagrant interest in the criminal acts recorded in the state since January 2.
