Essay on the reduction of the other in contemporaneity

With the process of democratization of knowledge caused through everything that has become available on the Internet and the right that people have to have to opine on any topics. The argumentative superficiality, which is one of the characteristics present in common sense, allowed an opinion (careless) expressed on the other, was fully able to define the other. Therefore, there is nothing more that is necessary to know about the being in question, but according to the writer Oscar Wilde: “Define is limiting”. And so has walked mankind in the virtual world with a discursive limitation on all different themes.

It is worth analyzing the comments left below a post, a text or a video of some Brazilian artist, for example, in the program: “Mirror” Lazaro Ramos interviewing the nutritionist Bela Gil, a young man named Flávio made the following comment: “Crabs for A fucking leftist creole. ” For many young people like Flávio, the fact of knowing in whom an artist voted or what he thinks about the political party issue, is already enough to rate it with some phrase like this above in an interview that has nothing to do with the question of being direct or esqu The theme of the interview was feeding. In other words, where is the respect for the educational work of the nutritionist Bela Gil and the actor Lazaro Ramos for all his artistic contribution? Thus it has also happened with some exhibition of artists such as Fernanda Montenegro, Chico buarque de Holanda, Gilberto Gil etc.

Previously, Brazilian music was heard to learn about the styles, the artists, the movements, the history of Brazil. Now it seems that if a young Baiano votes in the right parties, it is not interesting that he hears Gilberto Gil because it is a “leftist creole“. What is a reduction of what Gilberto Gil means for Brazilian music, because the themes addressed in the songs composed by him go far beyond his political position. I hope that the new generations will be able to break these ideological boundaries to explore what the Brazilian culture has to offer.

Rodrigo Santana Costa is a teacher and writer. He published the work: “Clarecer” in verse and prose.
